Kathy Tripcony

Kathy Tripcony’s career focused on early childhood education, teaching kindergarten and directing a preschool for more than 25 years. She began writing after having survived the loss of her only son to suicide. A national speaker and Bible study leader, she is passionate about bringing hope to broken families. Tripcony was instrumental in beginning Redeemer Lutheran Church's K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry, providing four-legged compassion to hurting individuals in Colorado and the nation.

Tripcony lives in Timnath with her husband of 47 years. She’s mother to a busy daughter and son-in-law, and an energetic grandson.

About “Voice of Suicide, Voice of Hope

After Kathy Tripcony's only son took his own life, she began her journey of unimaginable grief. Creating "journal entries" from both herself and her son, she breaks through the silence that so often accompanies suicide and gives voice to her son's pain with honesty and compassion. Her son speaks with clarity as one who suffers from mental illness; through his voice we feel the agony of his depression. In the pages of the book, mother and son follow a path where beauty collides with pain and where hope triumphs.

Interested in being featured in our Local Author Spotlight?

Each month, we’ll feature a local author in our newsletter and on our website. Featured books should have been published within the last two years and the author should be local to Clearview Library District. The Library will hold the author’s work to the same standards as those used for collection development. Please query Casey at casey@clearviewlibrary.org if you would like to be featured. We will also add a donated copy of your book to the Library’s collection. For more information about how authors can have their work showcased at the library, please read The Clearview Library District's Local Author Policy.
